Hi,I really like some of the features on ths board but it seems pretty apparent that people really prefer the boardhost format and feel more comfortable posting on a board like that. What I'm considering doing is keeping this board for longterm messages and doctor specific questions but having another for daily conversation that would be similar to boardhost. Here's a link of a board I've looked at,please tell me what you think of his board style. www.the-boneyard.com/mbb.pl

Hi Dean,
I agree - the new board is a perfect format for archiving, but it makes the daily chat a bit difficult. The link you posted is an improvement, but I still prefer the original.
Cheers, Tex
P.S. You rock, Dean. I have no idea how you find the time and energy to do all of this, but it is much appreciated!!!

I was wondering why people weren't posting. I for one like this board. Maybe it just takes some time to get used to it.

Unfortunately, I much prefer the other board for daily messages. It was much simpler and at first glance, I could easily see the new posts and who had been posting. This board is "too fussy" requiring a lot more time and effort to look around and see all the new posts. Sorry Dean but you asked.

I think that both this board and the old board host had different qualitys, and both are very good. I prefer this one now though i think it just takes a while to adapt from the other one which we have all become used to. The advantage with this one is that once you open up a new thread all of the messages contained within that thread are there. You don't need to keep opening up everypost related to the topic. It makes it a lot faster and prevents all those pop ups. I am probably in the minority here but i reckon that this board should stay as its far more organised and quicker.

Hi Dean I agree with Tex and Kelli, I prefer the old board. Although this board does look very slick and impressive, it almost has too many features, you know? While the old board was far from perfect it was much more user-friendly. As Kelli said, new posts, topics, popular threads and posters were clearly visible, and the free-flowing layout, I think, was much more conducive to chatting. Another thing I've noticed with this board, is that you can't reply directly to a specific post, all messages are listed sequentially according to the latest reply. Am I right? With the old board, if you wanted to weigh in on a topic or reply directly to a particular post, you could post a message directly underneath it. I don't know if you can do that with this board. <br> Anyway, hope this helps you Dean. And thank you again for all your hard work! Tex is right, you rock! ;D You do too, Kline! 8) Best regards, Admirer

I have to agree with Kelli and company... I liked the old format better. I also agree that this one is good for archiving, but it simply doesn't facilitate the daily chat. It's far too cumbersome.
I also prefer being able to address a specific post instead of a whole thread. It feels more like talking with each other.
Thanks for all the hard work!

I think this board is MUCH better and more user-friendly. It's easy to navigate, and is way more organised, so I'm very plaesed with the change.

hi folks, and hi dean--well, much as I marvel at all the features and organization of this board (and all your hard work I also think a lot of it will go wasted, in a sense... quick and messy just seemed to keep things moving and felt friendlier somehow. I liked the sports-example you posted though, that would be great. please don't be bummed about us creatures of habit, okay? I'll come back to this board no matter HOW you set it up, but given a choice, I'd say simplify... and hey, on a different note, I am all ears and smiles for your upcoming consult. hope to have one with T myself in february, too. please give us the update as soon as you set your suitcase down, okay? you do rock, dean, there's no question. -shari

Thanks for the feedback everyone,I want to what's best for everyone,so I'm open to any suggestions. I prefer many of this board's features but I know many of you like the old format. If we went to another format though we would probably have to host it which would cost some bucks. Would any of you be willing to ciontribute a small amount each through paypal so we could have a great board with excellent archiving, etc?? I'll put the work in if tha's the case. Shari,my dear, unfortunately I had to postpone my T consult butFebruary looks good for me,maybe we can meet up 8) Keep me posted about your schedule. Dean

Yeah, all the sections really dilute the immediacy and accessibility of the board.

Dean, I think the option of the other link - the one quoted on top page - would be great! Best regards Sim

I am really sorry: I do NOT like this and the former board!! Awfully slow, you dont have a quick overvieuw (as on the old board) and those pop-ups! I participate in MANY forums and boards and the very best and easy, free to use is www.groups.yahoo.comYou can upload files, pics, memberlists, archives etc.. Important is, yahoo offers convenience, quick overvieuw and speed: for FREE!!! Max.

I'm starting to warm up to the new board. Perhaps it isn't as chat friendly, but maybe that is a good thing - it prevents a lot of useless clutter.
